My name is Heath - I take the occasional photograph. 

I am fascinated by an individual's aesthetics. Why is it that we all see the world very differently?

 

I like cameras, dogs, vintage cars, all things mid-century, and horizon lines. I study form and how it relates to landscape. I embrace simplicity, appreciate old before new, all shades of blue, white country houses, and occasional silence. 

I like reading artist statements; I dislike photographer's glowing appraisals of their own abilities - all forms of creativity should be subjective. That said, I have failed to reach the required word count to fill the void on this page.

Having laid the foundations of my career with The Melbourne Age and Sunday Age, I travel with two decades of experience across the print media and creative industries.

 

My portrait work has been nominated as a Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize finalist. A portfolio of my photographs has been shortlisted for the TPOTY (Travel Photographer of the Year Award). I have received two Melbourne Press Club Quill Awards and have been a Walkley Award finalist - I regret fronting my primary school band, apologies to all who attended that particular morning assembly. 

I make regular contributions to domestic and international magazines, creative agencies, commercial and individual clients.
